The fluid end (pump head body) is the core pressure‑containing component of a high‑pressure plunger pump. It is primarily used to convert the mechanical energy generated by the power end into high‑pressure fluid energy, enabling the pressurization and delivery of liquid media. It is widely applied in oil and gas fracturing, cementing, acidizing, stimulation operations, and high‑pressure fluid transfer systems.

The fluid end is subject to long‑term high‑frequency reciprocating impact loads, high‑pressure cycling, and erosion from sand‑laden media. Therefore, its material properties, machining precision, and reliability directly affect the operating efficiency and service life of the entire pump unit.
